MYO-FASCIAL ACUPUNCTURE: This form of acupuncture is a method from the East that has been adapted by Western Physicians to help alleviate pain and dysfunction of muscles, tendons & ligaments. The specific application of needles in certain points will have a strong remedial effect to the surrounding tissues by increasing local endorphins that will reduce pain & inflammation. The clinical applications of this modality are very wide reaching and benefit a great proportion of chronic pain complaints. LASER THERAPY: This cold laser therapy is used for treating mainly musculo-skeletal complaints of the body. Muscles, tendons, and ligaments all respond well to laser therapy without the pain of deep pressure massage or if the areas are too inflamed to handle myo-fascial acupuncture. At The Maas Clinic we have had fantastic results with burns, wounds, post- surgical scarring as well as accelerating the healing of non-cast fractures such as broken ribs, toes, noses & fingers by as much as 50% or more depending on age and cellular integrity. The laser is also a great tool for neuralgia and TMJ. We are proud to offer the services of a wound healing department within our clinic managed by a qualified nurse who specialises in wound management. TRACTION THERAPY: Vertical & cervical traction therapy is unique in the management of disc degeneration in conjunction with specific Osteopathic therapies for either the lower back or neck. cute or chronic disorders do well with a traction approach as do gentle programs for post-surgical rehabilitation of specific injuries. Programs are designed to match the need of the degeneration level of the patients’ spine & are always managed & monitored closely by one of our Osteopathic Physicians. |
