The BTA assessment is a simple in-clinic procedure that involves the testing of your blood, saliva and urine after a 12-hour overnight fast. The purpose of this test is to understand what is going on inside your body and how this affects your overall health. Along with the combination of other point-of-care tools used during your test visit, this is the primary guide for the practitioner to create the ideal program to maximise your healing and to bring your body back to optimal performance. After your 12-hour fast, you will collect your first and second urine of the morning which you will bring into the clinic. Upon arrival at the clinic a small amount of venous blood is drawn and a saliva sample is obtained. These samples are then tested with the BTA unit. Further blood detail is obtained by routine General Chemistry profiles which include cholesterol, glucose, liver & kidney enzymes, calcium levels and more. These individual blood tests are selected dependent on what the patients particular health concern is. Clinical Microscopy may also be used for live blood analysis at this point. All of the data is then compiled by our qualified nurse and you return for your consultation, results, prescriptions and recommendations later in the day with your Osteopathic Physician. It is that simple! |
